Travel Info

Tetbury is on the A433 10 miles SW of Cirencester and 23 miles NE of Bath. Approaching from Cirencester turn left before the town, at a sign for Tetbury industrial estate and take the road downhill for half a mile. The Old Railway Yard free car park is on the left at the bottom of the hill. From the town centre, opposite the Market House take Chipping Lane downhill and turn right into the car park.

Navigation

From the car park go back to the main road (there is a choice of the access road or stepped path). Cross the road and turn left, downhill then climbing and passing where Cirencester Road becomes The Chipping. Pass the Priory Flats on
your right 1 and turn immediately right into Eccles Court which becomes a walled lane between houses until you reach London Road.

2 Here turn left on the pavement, bearing left at the crossroads, and continue towards the town centre as far as a pedestrian crossing. 3 Cross here and turn right following the road back in the direction you came until you reach the
crossroads again.

4 Turn left into New Church Street. Where this road bears right at a small green (the Knapp) 5 fork left steeply downhill to cross the stream on a footbridge beside a ford. Climb out of the valley up Cutwell Road bearing left into Berrells Road.
6 Take the pavement down to a T-junction with the main Bath Road 7 and turn left downhill.

Opposite the last house on the right, cross the road and take the pavement (minimum 89cm wide) over the river bridge facing the traffic. Go uphill past the church into Church Street and the town centre.

With the distinctive Market House 8 on your left, bear right and right again into Silver Street. 9 Cross the street before you begin to go downhill and go steeply down to cross the Wiltshire Bridge. After the bridge turn left 10 through the gate onto a signed path (Tetbury Trail) along the valley bottom and back to the car park.
