Start and meet at the Withington Jubilee Village Hall car park Withington Village (Jubilee) Hall, Withington, GL54 4BP. Entrance is 100m on the RHS after the Mill Inn This walk is a little longer than many and bringing a snack and drink to enjoy at Foxcote would be good. Although longer there is only one climb near the start and then its downhill all the way. We will head out from the village and climb the slope on the western side passing Withington Woods. That will be the only major climb on the walk and offer glorious views back over Withington. We will then head north across the plateau passing Shill Hill and Foxcote Hill descending into Foxcote village – a lovely stopping point for a picnic snack and drink. From Foxcote we will wander back to Withington through farmland and across racehorse tracks passing some grand properties. Although a little longer than many, this walk has few ups and downs once we are on the airy plateau so plenty of opportunity to look around and enjoy our glorious Cotswolds. |
