The Bard and the Stones

The route enjoys wonderful views and much interest following two long distant paths, the D’arcy Dalton Way and the Shakespear Way.

Some steady climbs up and down with generally good paths and minimal road walking. Four stiles.

A walk around delightful countryside including the towns and villages of middle Oxfordshire. Starting from the centre centre of Chipping Norton we walk through the countryside to Salford and a coffee stop. We then head to the Rollright stones, an ideal place for a picnic lunch before returning to Chipping Norton via a different route.

There will be time to hear about the myths and facts relating to this ancient site.

Please bring your own refreshments and drinks as there are no cafes en route.

There is a good free car park in New Street, well signed. Toilets at the town hall.
