Hoping for good views, around the highest point in the Cotswolds.

Route description

  • Please wear weather-appropriate footwear and clothing for walking
  • Please bring a drink, a snack, and sunscreen
  • The day before a walk, please check to ensure it is still running – and for any exceptional weather forecasts / warnings
  • All walk leaders are appropriately trained and have basic first-aid skills
  • Assistance dogs (on short leads) are welcome
  • Guided walks with the Wardens are free, but we welcome donations to help us sustain our work across the Cotswolds National Landscape.

The walk may have good views from the top of Cleeve Common across the Severn valley to the Malverns. We will pass a number of sites of Iron Age and more recent history. Although around the top of the Cotswolds, with a number of ups and downs, there will not be any unduly steep/hilly parts.

Wardens Wood car park (West Down). Turn off A40 for Whittington. Turn right at village then turn first left (signposted “Whitehall”) then along road for 2 miles. The road ends at the car park.
