Route description

The route takes quiet paths away from Ebrington and past Foxcote house up and over to Ilmington, where we explore the church, try to find Robert Thompson’s mice and locate the grave of our only British woman Nobel prize winner for chemistry, Dorothy Hodgkin. Enroute back to Ebrington we admire the views (weather permitting) of at least four counties. Please wear weather-appropriate footwear and clothing for walking.

  • Please bring a drink, a snack, a light lunch and sunscreen, and plenty of water especially on a hot day
  • The day before a walk, please check to ensure it is still running – and for any exceptional weather forecasts / warnings
  • All walk leaders are appropriately trained and have basic first-aid skills
  • Assistance dogs (on short leads) are welcome
  • Guided walks with the Wardens are free, but we welcome donations to help us sustain our work across the Cotswolds National Landscape.
