Route description

The focus of the walk is the village of Guiting Power, which despite its remoteness, has remained a thriving village. An Amenity Trust set up by former occupants of the village to support local people may be the reason for this. Our route takes us South East as it follows the valley side of the bubbling River Windrush to Naunton. Then it climbs northwards, passing quarries to the fringe of the Cotswold Farm Park. It is then a short trek West through Barton and back to Guiting Power.

Please wear weather-appropriate footwear and clothing for walking

  • Please bring a drink, a snack, and sunscreen
  • The day before a walk, please check to ensure it is still running – and for any exceptional weather forecasts / warnings
  • All walk leaders are appropriately trained and have basic first-aid skills
  • Assistance dogs (on short leads) are welcome
  • Guided walks with the Wardens are free, but we welcome donations to help us sustain our work across the Cotswolds National Landscape.
