Route description

A walk passing through the idyllic Cotswold villages of Stanton, Stanway and Snowshill, with great views on a clear day. We will discuss the main points of interest as we proceed along the route.

Departing Stanton, we follow a relatively level walk to Stanway before proceeding uphill through Lidcombe Wood and crossing the Winchcombe Way to descend to Snowshill where we will stop for a snack. There is a pub and National Trust site in Snowshill. We then return to Stanton via Laverton.

Please wear weather-appropriate footwear and clothing for walking

  • Please bring a drink, a snack, and sunscreen
  • The day before a walk, please check to ensure it is still running – and for any exceptional weather forecasts / warnings
  • All walk leaders are appropriately trained and have basic first-aid skills
  • Assistance dogs (on short leads) are welcome
  • Guided walks with the Wardens are free, but we welcome donations to help us sustain our work across the Cotswolds National Landscape.
