Route description

The first of what are planned to be bi-monthly Saturday walks from the village.

This is the second part of a figure of eight walk around Marshfield with the first ‘scoop’ taking place in the morning (see separate listing on the CNL website). The routes can be walked as an all-day event or separately.

From the village war memorial the walk goes through the Market Place and past the church heading east along a narrow road with pretty cottages before reaching a bridleway. On reaching Cloud Wood the path follows the Doncombe brook before climbing uphill and turning back towards Marshfield and returning back to our start point.

Shorts may not be suitable as there are some nettles locally.

  • Please wear weather-appropriate footwear and clothing for walking
  • Please bring a drink, a snack, and sunscreen
  • The day before a walk, please check to ensure it is still running – and for any exceptional weather forecasts / warnings
  • All walk leaders are appropriately trained and have basic first-aid skills
  • Assistance dogs (on short leads) are welcome
  • Guided walks with the Wardens are free, but we welcome donations to help us sustain our work across the Cotswolds National Landscape.
