Route description

The Duntisbournes are some of the most perfect Cotswold villages. This walk uses a combination of quiet country lanes and good footpaths to complete a circuit of the four villages and is ideal for a November day. We will start from roadside parking passing a long barrow and head down Crabtree Lane to Duntisbourne Abbots with its lovely little church and Duntisbourne Leer with its quirky ford. Heading downstream to Middle Duntisbourne and Duntisbourne Rouse the route then follows a section of the Macmillan Way back to our parking.

  • Please wear weather-appropriate footwear and clothing for walking
  • Please bring a drink, a snack, and sunscreen
  • The day before a walk, please check to ensure it is still running – and for any exceptional weather forecasts / warnings
  • All walk leaders are appropriately trained and have basic first-aid skills
  • Assistance dogs (on short leads) are welcome
  • Guided walks with the Wardens are free, but we welcome donations to help us sustain our work across the Cotswolds National Landscape.
