Route description

Following the Oxfordshire Way out of Ascott towards Shipton, our route takes us through a varied landscape before joining the d’Arcy Dalton Way. Our reward for a long gradual climb will be fine views across the Evenlode Valley as we return. There’s plenty of local history to share too, from the mottes of the 12th century to the Ascott martyrs of the 19th and a murder in the 20th.

Bring provisions for elevenses and lunch, and we’ll be back in time for you to call in for tea and cake at the FarmEd café on your way home.

  • Please wear weather-appropriate footwear and clothing for walking
