Our Caring for the Cotswolds Grant Scheme, supported by The National Lottery Heritage Fund and our local business members, has recently awarded a further £34,101 across nine fantastic projects that will benefit the people, wildlife, and landscape of the Cotswolds, and support climate action.

In May, members of our board of directors, students from Chipping Campden School, and, for the first time, one of our valued business members, the Director of the The Cotswold Letting Agency, jointly reviewed the applications – allowing for a multi-generational mix of perspectives and vibrant discussions about the proposed projects.

The latest batch of successfully funded projects includes –
– The construction of an outdoor adventure playground by Noah’s Ark Children’s Venture which will allow the woodland site to be used as a fully functional day respite care centre for children with special needs.

– A series of guided walking experiences in the Cotswolds for people from inner-city areas. The project, run by Steppers UK, will provide supported access to rural green spaces that many participants have never experienced, strengthening community cohesion and a long-term connection to the countryside.

– A series of traditional rural skills workshops delivered by Sparkhouse Creatives for local primary schools, vulnerable young people, and for communities, culminating in a public exhibition of artwork to increase awareness about the Cotswolds rural craft heritage.

– An online climate action education program provided by Green Schools to eight schools in the Cotswolds, enabling young people to design and lead projects to reduce their schools’ carbon footprints.

– Goat grazing on ancient limestone grassland, co-ordinated by Cranham Common Management Committee, to control the spread of bramble and scrub, so maintaining a rich habitat for wildflowers and insects.

Big thanks to the members of our review panel, and huge congratulations to all our successful grantees! We look forward to seeing how each of these projects progresses, and how they make great differences to those involved!

Are you a non-profit seeking funding for your project? We offer grants of £500 to £5,000 to for projects that benefit nature and communities or support climate action. Our next application deadline is 4 October 2026.
