Route description

  • Starting from King’s Stanley, we will walk up to Selsley Common to enjoy the views. We then descend towards the Nailsworth Valley through Woodchester Vineyards (at their best), enjoying fabulous views over the Valley, and commons beyond.
  • We reach the bottom end of Woodchester Park, and walk the length of it, passing lakes, the iconic belted galloways and the Mansion. It will be open for toilets and refreshments. We will eat our lunch here. We have information to share about the park to enhance your walk. At the top we will visit Coaley Peak and long barrow and have a final break.  We then enjoy the lovely woodland walk back down, on the Cotswold Way, ending through meadows back to King’s Stanley.
  • There will be breaks for snacks / light packed lunch.
  • Toilets available at start / finish
  • The day before a walk, please check to ensure it is still running – and for any exceptional weather forecasts / warnings
  • All walk leaders are appropriately trained and have basic first-aid skills
  • Assistance dogs (on short leads) are welcome
  • Guided walks with the Wardens are free, but we welcome donations to help us sustain our work across the Cotswolds National Landscape.
