Route description

This walk tracks South of Brimpsfield, towards Syde and Caudle Green, before turning North to return home. We pass the site of a Medieval castle at Brimpsfield and follow the infant River Frome on its journey towards Stroud. In the valley we will be walking along a footpath that is supported by recent river restoration work carried out to manage flooding. We will make a short stop for coffee en route – please bring along a drink (and snack). There are two stiles early on and a steady steep ascent towards the end of the walk.

  • Please wear weather-appropriate footwear and clothing for walking
  • Please bring a drink, a snack, and sunscreen
  • The day before a walk, please check to ensure it is still running – and for any exceptional weather forecasts / warnings
  • All walk leaders are appropriately trained and have basic first-aid skills
  • Assistance dogs (on short leads) are welcome
  • Guided walks with the Wardens are free, but we welcome donations to help us sustain our work across the Cotswolds National Landscape.
