Route description

We walk past Beckford’s Tower before descending to the Cotswold Way which we follow through Bath before heading north up a short, steep climb. We take a detour to reach the summit of Kelston Roundhill where there are, on a clear day, views towards Bath and Bristol; if it is a clear day, binoculars will be useful. We return via Prospect Stile and the Racecourse to the start point.

Please bring refreshments.

If you park at the Lansdown Park and Ride don’t forget to pay for parking. From Bath city centre public transport is available using service 31 to the P&R site.

  • Please wear weather-appropriate footwear and clothing for walking; maybe a spare jumper and/or waterproof
  • Please bring a drink and a snack
  • The day before a walk, please check to ensure it is still running – and for any exceptional weather forecasts / warnings
  • All walk leaders are appropriately trained and have basic first-aid skills
  • Assistance dogs (on short leads) are welcome
  • Guided walks with the Wardens are free, but we welcome donations to help us sustain our work across the Cotswolds National Landscape.
