Chedworth and Stowell Park

Starting from the outskirts of Chedworth we traverse Hedgley Bottom to Fossebridge. We then continue through Camp Wood to cross the Stowell Estate to Yanworth Mill and onwards through Chedworth Woods to return to the start.

Route description

The walk is a mixture of terrain which affords the opportunity to pass historic inns and mills, the remains of WW2 American hospitals and Polish schools and to cross the beautiful Stowell Estate. Whilst there are some gentle ascents the walk is suitable for all ages.
Please bring a snack and drink.

The Hemplands, Chedworth. Parking is on the road or designated parking areas in front of the houses. From the A429 turn in to Fields Road between Fossebridge and Fosse Cross. The start can also be approached from the direction of Andoversford and Withington following the signs for Chedworth. The parking area is in the lane opposite the old Denfurlong farm shop and campsite which is currently a building site. The start is in the lane opposite Denfurlong Farm.
