Route description

This is the second of two walks, over a weekend, to walk the whole of the Circuit of Bath route.

We start from the public car park at Batheaston. You will need to park on local roads as the car park has a three-hour limit and the walk will be longer than this.

We cross the river Avon and walk across the National Trust’s Bathampton Meadows; from there we walk alongside the Kennet and Avon canal to Brassknocker Basin before following the Midford Brook to Monkton Combe through Tucking Mill to Midford. We then follow the route of the disused Somerset Coal Canal before ascending to the Millenium View Point and the short level walk to the Odd Down Park and Ride.

Guided by your walk leaders we will return to the start point using public transport (travel not included in walk time).

Bring snacks and a packed lunch.

  • Please wear weather-appropriate footwear and clothing for walking
  • Please bring a drink, a snack, and sunscreen
  • The day before a walk, please check to ensure it is still running – and for any exceptional weather forecasts / warnings
  • All walk leaders are appropriately trained and have basic first-aid skills
  • Assistance dogs (on short leads) are welcome
  • Guided walks with the Wardens are free, but we welcome donations to help us sustain our work across the Cotswolds National Landscape.
