Route description

The aim of the walk is to reveal the varied, often hidden features, of Cleeve Common. It starts in Warden’s Wood car park. From here we follow footpaths leading us to the butterfly park below Upper Hill Farm. The Cotswold Way goes through the park which we follow all the way up to the fort, the Cleeve Cloud toposcope (317m) from which we can enjoy viewpoints of the Vale of Severn and the hills beyond. From here it is a pleasant walk back Southwards to the trig point (330m) at the radio masts and maybe a little detour across to Wontley Farm and back to the start.

Please bring drink/snack.

Warden’s Wood car park may be approached from Brockhampton, or from the A40 via Whittington or Syreford.
