Route description

Walking around the Ditchley Park estate we’ll enjoy classic English parkland and views of the house, famously Churchill’s retreat in World War II and rich in other historical associations. On our return via the hamlet of Taston we’ll stop for a picnic lunch, so bring refreshments. The route isn’t hilly, apart from an incline at the end; parts could be muddy if there has been recent rain.

You may like a coffee at The Old Shed café beforehand or be tempted by homemade cake and a cuppa afterwards. Please park at the lower end of the café car park.

  • Please wear weather-appropriate footwear and clothing for walking
  • Please bring a drink, a snack, and sunscreen
  • The day before a walk, please check to ensure it is still running – and for any exceptional weather forecasts / warnings
  • All walk leaders are appropriately trained and have basic first-aid skills
  • Assistance dogs (on short leads) are welcome
  • Guided walks with the Wardens are free, but we welcome donations to help us sustain our work across the Cotswolds National Landscape.
