Route description

A circular walk in the open agricultural land in south Warwickshire known as the Feldon. Starting at Lower Brailes, we cross the fields up to Winderton, a hamlet with lovely views back across the Stour valley, and then follow Ditchedge Lane, an ancient trackway, glimpsing rolling hills through the hedgerows. A gentle ascent leads us on to Mine Hill, where a patchwork of fields and woodland can be seen spreading out below, before the final stretch back to Brailes.

Please bring snacks for a mid-morning break. At the end of the walk, refreshments are available at the George at Brailes and the Cotswold Distillery nearby.

  • Please wear weather-appropriate footwear and clothing for walking
  • Please bring a drink, a snack, and sunscreen
  • The day before a walk, please check to ensure it is still running – and for any exceptional weather forecasts / warnings
  • All walk leaders are appropriately trained and have basic first-aid skills
  • Assistance dogs (on short leads) are welcome
  • Guided walks with the Wardens are free, but we welcome donations to help us sustain our work across the Cotswolds National Landscape.
