Route description

Have you ever wanted to walk one of the many Self Guided Walks on the Cotswold CNL website? Have you felt trepidatious about undertaking such a task? Let us help to make it easier for you with this guided, self guided walk!

Starting in Guiting Power the Wardens Way takes us north West through Guiting Wood before turning to the West, eventually joining the Windrush Way. Then it’s south towards Roel Hill Farm and on to Hawling, the site of a lost medieval village. Here we turn east back towards Tally Ho from where the infamous limestone pipes hailed. We then head northwards back to Guiting Power. This is a four hour walk so come prepared with food and drink for a coffee stop and a lunch break on the hoof! Guiting Power has a number of food and drink outlets if that is your plan at the end of the walk.

  • Please wear weather-appropriate footwear and clothing for walking
  • Please bring a drink, a snack, and sunscreen
  • The day before a walk, please check to ensure it is still running – and for any exceptional weather forecasts / warnings
  • All walk leaders are appropriately trained and have basic first-aid skills
  • Assistance dogs (on short leads) are welcome
  • Guided walks with the Wardens are free, but we welcome donations to help us sustain our work across the Cotswolds National Landscape.
