Route description

Have you ever wanted to walk one of the many Self Guided Walks on the Cotswold CNL website? Have you felt trepidatious about undertaking such a task? Let us help to make it easier for you with this guided, self guided walk!

We start from the War Memorial in Guiting Power – parking is available in the Village Hall car park or on the village roads. Coffee is available in The Old Post Office Cafe or The Cotswold Guy which open at 9 am. From Guiting, we follow the Windrush Way to Aylworth where there is the site of the medieval village of Aylworth. From there we continue on the Windrush Way to Naunton where there is a lovely ancient Dovecote where we could stop for a break. From there a nice gentle stroll back to Guiting Power. There are plenty of refreshment opportunities in the village if you are looking for lunch following the walk.

  • Please wear weather-appropriate footwear and clothing for walking
  • Please bring a drink, a snack, and sunscreen
  • The day before a walk, please check to ensure it is still running – and for any exceptional weather forecasts / warnings
  • All walk leaders are appropriately trained and have basic first-aid skills
  • Assistance dogs (on short leads) are welcome
  • Guided walks with the Wardens are free, but we welcome donations to help us sustain our work across the Cotswolds National Landscape.
