Route description

Have you ever wanted to walk one of the many Self Guided Walks on the Cotswold CNL website? Have you felt trepidatious about undertaking such a task? Let us help to make it easier for you with this guided, self guided walk! Starting from the distinctive bus shelter in Miserden we head off over open fields to Duntisbourne Abbots. It is worth exploring Miserden especially the church, with it’s superb alabaster tomb. Also, the war memorial outside the church, one of around 44 war memorials designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens. From Duntisbourne we walk to Winstone and then back to the start. In the woods there are signs of the motte and bailey fort that is a reminder of the Anarchy between Stephen and the Empress Matilda.
