Route description

We will head towards the Tyndale monument for a short stretch on the Cotswold Way but rather than climbing upwards we are going to walk down into Waterley Bottom to enjoy the tranquil lanes. We reach a turning point up a short steep path into Ashen Plain woods. Beyond the campsite we meander through woodland to Stinchcombe Hill, on a fine day there will be views towards the southwest. Here we rejoin the Cotswold Way to walk back to North Nibley. Bring a snack, no toilets en route, there are some short steep ascents.

  • Please wear weather-appropriate footwear and clothing for walking
  • Please bring a drink, a snack, and sunscreen
  • The day before a walk, please check to ensure it is still running – and for any exceptional weather forecasts / warnings
  • All walk leaders are appropriately trained and have basic first-aid skills
  • Assistance dogs (on short leads) are welcome
  • Guided walks with the Wardens are free, but we welcome donations to help us sustain our work across the Cotswolds National Landscape.
