A 5.5 mile walk through Painswick and out to Paradise returning via the Beacon and the golf course, providing excellent views and some challenging hills.

Route description

We will walk downhill along the Cotswold Way into Painswick, passing the church and then cut across to the playing field and down steps and stiles through a beautiful valley before climbing up through wood and fields to meet the Wysis Way and heading back to the Golf Course. Here we will climb up to the Beacon for the amazing views across the Severn Valley before wending our way back to the car park.

  • Please wear weather-appropriate footwear and clothing for walking
  • Please bring a drink, a snack, and sunscreen
  • The day before a walk, please check to ensure it is still running – and for any exceptional weather forecasts / warnings
  • All walk leaders are appropriately trained and have basic first-aid skills
  • Assistance dogs (on short leads) are welcome
  • Guided walks with the Wardens are free, but we welcome donations to help us sustain our work across the Cotswolds National Landscape.
