Route description

The route takes us across the main road and up an incline marked as a restricted by-way. The farm track takes us over the hill and back down towards the the A435 where we cross to head down into Coberley, where Dick Whittington grew up in the village manor house.
We exit the village over a footbridge and stile, following waymarked paths thorough the farmland and past an ancient barrow.
To continue our loop we will need to cross the A436 again, past the Cotswold Hills Golf club. We head towards Leckhampton Hill, but turn off at Hartley Farm, following the field paths back to the A436 and our starting point.

  • Please wear weather-appropriate footwear and clothing for walking
  • Please bring a drink, a snack, and sunscreen
  • The day before a walk, please check to ensure it is still running – and for any exceptional weather forecasts / warnings
  • All walk leaders are appropriately trained and have basic first-aid skills
  • Assistance dogs (on short leads) are welcome
  • Guided walks with the Wardens are free, but we welcome donations to help us sustain our work across the Cotswolds National Landscape.
