Route description

  • The route starts from Stinchcombe village hall up the ancient escarpment track to reach Stinchcombe Hill golf course. It follows the Cotswold Way part way around the golf course, with wide reaching views over the Severn Vale. The path continues down through the woodland to give views of Stancombe Park and then follow the contours across pasture fields to Stinchcombe church. The footpath route then heads uphill to return to Stinchcombe village hall.
  • Please note that there are no toilet facilities on this route.
  • Walking poles could be useful for the slopes.
  • The group will stop for a refreshment break, so please bring your own drink and snack.
  • If you are looking for food or toilets after the walk, the Leaf and Ground café is less than a mile away.
  • Please wear weather-appropriate footwear and clothing for walking. Sunscreen may be required.
  • The day before a walk, please check to ensure it is still running – and for any exceptional weather forecasts / warnings
  • All walk leaders are appropriately trained and have basic first-aid skills
  • Assistance dogs (on short leads) are welcome
  • Guided walks with the Wardens are free, but we welcome donations to help us sustain our work across the Cotswolds National Landscape.
