The North Face of Bredon Hill

After last year's successful ascent of the South Face of Bredon Hill, we will tackle the North Face, although as an outlier of the Cotswold Hills, it is perhaps more rounded and gentle than the Eiger.

Route description

We will start from Elmley Castle and take the flat lands across to  Great Comberton where we will tackle the ascent. While much of the walk is easy, there is a climb of 600ft, which gives us great view of south Worcestershire including the Malverns and across to Pershore. At the summit there is a Tower, the remains of an ancient fort and even an “Elephant”.

Refreshment and meals available after the walk.

Park considerately near Queen Elizabeth pub on Main Street, Elmley Castle WR10 3HS.

Meet up near the church.

Please wear weather-appropriate footwear and clothing for walking

  • Please bring a drink, a snack, and sunscreen
  • The day before a walk, please check to ensure it is still running – and for any exceptional weather forecasts / warnings
  • All walk leaders are appropriately trained and have basic first-aid skills
  • Assistance dogs (on short leads) are welcome
  • Guided walks with the Wardens are free, but we welcome donations to help us sustain our work across the Cotswolds National Landscape.
