Route description

Passing through St Peter’s churchyard and the George V playing field, we head for the hills, avoiding the Cotswold Way as much as we can. Pausing to enjoy the views back to Winchcombe, we continue to climb on a small lane and approach Belas Knap from the Cleeve Hill direction. After a timely coffee stop at the neolithic long barrow, we descend and return to Winchcombe via the prettily named Humblebee Cottages and Wadfield Farm on the Winchcombe Way.

Please bring a drink/snack.

  • Please wear weather-appropriate footwear and clothing for walking
  • The day before a walk, please check to ensure it is still running – and for any exceptional weather forecasts / warnings
  • All walk leaders are appropriately trained and have basic first-aid skills
  • Assistance dogs (on short leads) are welcome
  • Guided walks with the Wardens are free, but we welcome donations to help us sustain our work across the Cotswolds National Landscape.
