Miserden, Duntisbourne and Winstone

With Miserden village shop, on your right, walk past the church to a tree shelter. Keeping the shelter on your right, turn right up a footpath between houses and stone walls, to cross two stone stiles.

1 Cross the road and walk through the gate opposite. Follow the field boundary on your right, go through a gate and continue with the field boundary on your right. At the end of the field turn left down a track. Where the track forks, take the left fork.

At the end of the track enter the field through a gate and go straight down the field to a gate at the bottom. 2 Turn right along the road, past a house on your left and take the footpath through a field gate on your right into the field.

3 Follow the track uphill through a gate, keeping to the track as it enters woodland. Where the track forks, bear left, at next fork bear right uphill to enter a field between two stone pillars.

Keep the hedge on your right then join a track between a hedge and a fence. Cross the road and continue on a track to join the road to Duntisbourne Abbots. Take the road signed Birdlip and Cirencester through the village, above allotments and the church. (Village hall and old rectory on left).

Bear left downhill on the Birdlip, Cirencester Road, cross a stile on your left into the field. 4 Walk across the field, through a gateway with a stile, gradually going uphill to a gate in the top of the field. Cross a concrete track to a footpath between fences to enter the field.

Follow the boundary on your left to a gate and continue ahead then uphill to cross a stone stile in the top left hand corner next to a house.

Turn left and walk through Winstone village. Keep to the left where the road forks. 5 Take the footpath to your left, down a bank, over a stile into a field. Cross the field to a gate and a stile, enter the next field and walk up to a gate in front of a farm. Exit on to the road.

Cross the road and pass the farm with a barn and weather-vane on your left. Walk down the road to a lodge and turn left down a public bridleway through lodge gates. Walk down the tarmac drive until it bears right. Take the track downhill, past a lake. Walk past a sluice gate to a track.

6 Turn left to follow the track uphill. Turn right uphill at the next footpath junction. Go through a gate and a stile and continue uphill with views of Miserden House on your right. Exit the field via a gate and turn right up the road. Turn right at the first stone stile alongside a gate to retrace your route to Miserden village.
