Bradford on Avon Town Council – £1763 grant towards bat, bird and mammal boxes at Becky Addy Wood and ecological surveys to inform future work. Complete winter 2022/23.
Long Newnton Parish Council – £1,000 grant towards the establishment and management of wildflower road verges through the village over a three-year period. Complete winter 2022/23.
The Campden Society – £1,705 grant towards the restoration and management of a three-acre traditional orchard at Wolds End, Chipping Campden. Complete autumn 2022.
Wotton Area Climate Action Network – £703 grant towards the establishment of wild flowers in public spaces, the creation of a small area of limestone grassland and the installation of a ‘Welcome’ board to the woodland. Complete autumn 2022.
Box Parish Council – £2,010 grant towards habitat improvement work along ‘The Lovar Walk’, as well as seating and interpretation. Complete autumn 2022.
National Trust – £1,750 grant towards the installation of a new cattle drinking trough to facilitate conservation grazing across a wider area of Boundary Court Farm, Woodchester. Complete September 2021.
Wiltshire Wildlife Trust – £1,326 grant towards a programme to eradicate Himalayan Balsam, an invasive species, on the River By Brook from Castle Coombe to Box. Complete September 2021.
Butterfly Conservation, Gloucestershire – £1,052 towards habitat work to benefit the Pearl Bordered Fritillary butterfly in the Bathurst Estate, Cirencester. Complete December 2020.
Wild Woodland Celebrations, Avening – £1,125 towards a charcoal ring to facilitate woodland management. Complete November 2019. View Cotswold Life article.
Batsford Foundation, Moreton in Marsh – £515 grant towards the creation of a ½ acre wild flower meadow by reducing soil fertility and re-seeding. Complete October 2019.
Minchinhampton Commoners, Stroud – £1,584.21 grant towards new and replacement troughs to facilitate grazing across a wider area of the common. Complete May 2019.
Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust – £1,250 grant towards the installation of nest boxes in the Windrush Valley, as part of the Barn Owl Recovery Project. Complete March 2018.
North Cotswolds Deer Management Group – £1,481 grant towards eight trail cameras to collect data on deer populations. Complete October 2016 but cameras still in use now!
Bristol Avon Rivers Trust – £1,000 towards woodland coppicing work, path clearance and access to a historic well, in Sherston, Wiltshire. Complete January 2016.
Cotswolds Rivers Trust – £500 towards river restoration work on the Upper Coln near Winson. Complete December 2013.
World Land Trust – £500 towards coppicing, woodland management and interpretation panels at Kites Hill nature reserve near Painswick Beacon. Complete December 2013.
Heritage and landscape

The Bath Stone Museum Quarry Trust – £1,900 grant towards the restoration of the Box Quarry Crane, which will be located in Bath and tell the story of the Cotswolds industrial heritage. Due to complete winter 2022/23.
Radway Parish Council – £1,001 grant towards improved access to Old St Peter’s churchyard, with interpretation on the history of the site and notable tombs, building on existing interest in the area from the Civil War. The project will culminate in the production of a heritage trail leaflet. Complete winter 2022/23.
Leafield Parish Council – £2,313 grant towards the restoration of the Leafield Lychgate; an impressive war memorial at the entrance to the church yard. Complete autumn 2022.
Avon Wildlife Trust – £1,115 grant towards the establishment of a 30 tree mixed fruit orchard, tree guards and training in St. Catherine’s Valley, north of Bath. Complete May 2019.
Gloucs Warwickshire Railways Trust – £2,500 grant towards the construction of single platform railway halt at Hailes Abbey, near Toddington. Complete June 2017.
Bourton on the Water Parish Council – £1,352 grant towards urgent repairs to the riverbank wall, where the river Windrush flows through the centre of Bourton on the Water. Complete February 2017.
Nailsworth Town Council – £200 grant towards the repair of the spring head at Glendower; home of poet WH Davies in Watledge, Nailsworth. Complete December 2016.
Improving access

100 Acer Wood Conservation Trust – £759 grant towards tools, trees, fencing and an onsite toilet. These resources facilitate the management of the site and improve the volunteer experience. Complete autumn 2022.
Friendship Café & Cotswold Voluntary Wardens – £874 grant towards walking equipment, maps, high vis jackets and walking poles. These items have improved the walking experience for the women and foster greater independence. Complete autumn 2022.
Chalford Parish Council – £1,315 grant towards the creation of a guided walking trail of existing wildlife sites in the village, including new information boards, to encourage residents and visitors to explore the area. Complete September 2021.

Tysoe Parish Council – £1,262 grant towards the development of a nature trail using the local network of Public Footpaths and a series of interpretation boards. Tetbury Rail Lands Regeneration Trust – £2,500 grant towards the surfacing of the new section of the Tetbury Trail – extending the multi-user path by 1 km for the benefit of residents and visitors. The new section allows people from Tetbury to walk, run, cycle or ride to the Trouble House café/restaurant. Complete April 2021.
Beckford Nature Reserve – £1,676 grant towards a set of new steps to improve the safety and accessibility to the Reserve, especially for the elderly and people who find the terrain difficult, and easier to maintain for the future. Complete March 2021.
Sustainable Woodstock, Oxfordshire – £1,069 grant towards access improvements and the management of a community orchard and woodland. Complete June 2020.
Quenington Parish Council – £500 grant towards the production of an attractive leaflet with a map of three circular walks starting and finishing in the village of Quenington. Complete July 2019. View Quenington Walks Leaflet.
Batheaston Parish Council – £1,084 grant towards a detailed riverbank / footpath survey with recommendations for future maintenance. Complete January 2019.
Ilmington Parish Council – £770 grant towards the restoration of the Coronation Gate, commissioned in 1953 in honour of the Queen’s Coronation, and renewal of access notice board content. Complete May 2017.
Nailsworth Town Council – £730 grant towards replacement steps at Bunting Hill to enable residents and walkers to access the footpath and woodland. Complete December 2016.
Winchcombe Town Council – £500 grant towards the completion of a missing section of hard surface footpath on the Winchcombe Way. Complete June 2014.
Education and interpretation

Tysoe Parish Council – £558 grant towards a series of educational sessions and workshops for the children and residents of the parish to learn more about their local wildlife. Complete winter 2022/23.
Yatton Keynell Parish Council – £293.68 grant towards the restoration of the village pond in partnership with the local primary school. The project will involve planting new native species and pupils will undertake pond surveys to measure the health of the environment. Complete winter 2022.
Friends of Westonbirt Arboretum – £7,200 grant towards a community shelter. Built by community programme participants alongside experienced craftspeople, the shelter will be the focal point for educational experiences. Complete May 2022.
Limpley Stoke Parish Council – £1,200 grant towards information boards showing the history of the village and a habitat and species map. Complete March 2022.
Sladebank Woods CIC – £1,375 grant towards construction of a pole structure for use as an Education shelter. Built by volunteers with a range of abilities, it will be the focal point for a range of future events, including bringing young people with severe learning difficulties into nature to develop practical and life skills. Complete January 2022.
Kings Stanley Parish Council – £650 grant towards two interpretation panels set in one tonne stone blocks on Selsley Common SSSI. Complete May 2020. View information board design.
Ascott Martyrs – £323 grant towards memorial plaques under the Martyrs Tree on the village green at Ascott under Wychwood commemorating the Ascott Martyrs. Complete October 2019.
Tormarton Village Pond Committee – £783 grant towards an interpretation board with a map and illustrations of the species that live in and around the pond. Complete August 2019.
Durham University – £820 grant towards a PDF walking guide and an interactive digital guide on the Iron Age settlement at Bagendon, and the wider Cotswold landscape. Complete May 2017. View Bagendon walking guide.
