Before the visit
It can be helpful to introduce pupils to fossils and geology before Gareth’s visit, this helps brings things to life on the day. Below are two sets of resources for teachers and children to engage with before and after the visit:
British Geological Survey – use this online tool to identify the geology below your school and local area!
Please note: Gareth currently offers this service in the Wardens’ central district. This area is roughly bounded by Cheltenham and Gloucester to the west, Northleach to the north, Elkstone to the east, and Cirencester to the south. He requires 15 minutes before the session to set up. He may also be accompanied by a second Warden during sessions.
