Round the houses
From Bibury we head south towards the Ampneys on good tracks with views over the countryside. We then return via Barnsley and Barnsley Park.
The walk is generally over level ground although there might be mud in places in the event of prolonged rain. We will be passing through or close to historic villages and a number of interesting houses, both ancient and modern, plus the beautiful parkland of Barnsley House. Please bring snacks, drinks and a packed lunch. Note the earlier start time.
This walk is organised by Cotswold Voluntary Wardens, the voluntary arm of the Cotswolds Conservation Board. These walks offer an interesting and often entertaining way of exploring our wonderful Cotswold countryside and landscape. All walks by the Voluntary Wardens are FREE OF CHARGE however donations are welcome and help us to take care of the countryside.
PLEASE: always remember to wear appropriate footwear because some walks may be steep and muddy in places. Dogs are not allowed on walks, except guide dogs and hearing dogs. It is advisable to check the website or call the Cotswolds Conservation Board (07841 663607) beforehand for details of any changes, particularly during bad weather.
