Fungus foray

If you’re wild about wild food then take a tip from the experts at Chedworth Roman Villa, near Cheltenham, this September, when the National Trust property will be hosting its annual one-day celebration of the humble mushroom.

On Saturday 5 November 2011, from 10.15am to 12.30pm, Chedworth Roman Villa’s morning foray will cost £3 – with participants urged to wear sturdy footwear and wet-weather clothing, as well as bringing with them a knife, basket, notebook, pencil and identification book.

The foraging promises to provide a fun, and safe, addition to a day out at the spectacular historic site in the Cotswolds, not to mention a way to potentially build the appetite for some of Britain’s tastiest specimens.
